The throat chakra, also known as ‘’Vishuddha’’ is the fifth chakra and acts as the body’s communication hub. In Sanskrit, the word Vishuddha means pure. The vrittis or tendencies of the throat chakra are much higher than those of the lower chakras, which are based mainly on animalistic nature and survivalist instincts. In the throat chakra it is where you speak your truth and find your voice and it is associated with clarity and responsibility. This chakra is associated with expressing your thoughts and emotions, but also with hearing and being heard. Opening and balancing the throat chakra enables you to grasp the true essence of spiritual life. An open throat chakra gives you the ability and confidence to express yourself freely, you become more spiritually oriented, you become a good listener and you are able to make a high impact using fewer words while talking.
